Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 9, 2026
This policy explains what data AEO.day, operated by [Company Legal Name], collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email [email protected].
01Data we collect
We collect the following categories of data.
- Account data: your name and email address, and workspace membership and role information.
- Workspace data: the brand names, aliases, domains, competitors, prompts, and settings you configure, along with the answers, mentions, and citations we sample and compute for you.
- Free grader submissions: the email address, brand name, and domain you enter into the free grader, and the result we generate.
- AI crawler log data you send us: the request records you forward to our ingest endpoint, including user agents, paths, status codes, and hashed IP addresses. We store a salted hash of the IP address, not the raw address, for the purpose of verifying whether a crawler is genuine or spoofed.
- Billing data: your subscription plan and status. Card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored on our systems.
02How we use it
We use this data to provide and operate the service: to sample answer engines on your behalf, compute visibility metrics, classify citations and crawler traffic, run your account and billing, send transactional and product email, provide support, prevent abuse, and improve the service. We use the free grader submission to run your requested grade, email you the result, and, where you have been told so at the point of collection, send you occasional related product updates. We do not sell your personal data.
03Subprocessors we share with
We share data with the following service providers so they can perform services on our behalf. Each processes data under its own agreements and only as needed to provide its service.
- OpenAI: answer engine sampling and analysis.
- Anthropic: answer engine sampling and analysis.
- Google: answer engine sampling and grounding.
- Perplexity: answer engine sampling.
- DataForSEO: search engine result data.
- Stripe: payment processing.
- Resend: transactional and product email.
- Our hosting provider: application hosting and storage.
We do not otherwise share your personal data with third parties except when required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a business transfer.
04Retention
We keep account and workspace data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we remove or anonymize it within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, billing records) to comply with legal obligations. Hashed crawler IP data is retained only as long as needed for verification and analytics.
05Your rights
You can request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing [email protected]. We will verify your request and respond within the period required by applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
06Cookies
Today we use essential authentication cookies only. These cookies keep you signed in and are required for the service to function. We do not currently use advertising or third-party analytics trackers. We will update this policy and add a consent tool before adding any advertising or analytics trackers.
07International transfers
We and our subprocessors may process data in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect data transferred across borders.
